brand new GE Phone Dect 6.0 with three handsets is refusing to work! Please Help.?

Just about this phone and charged it for 16 hours as the brief instructional manual suggested. It keeps saying “out of range” – It has never worked since I bought it last week, should I return it or is there a step that I am missing, the manual is terrible and doesn’t explain anything much, it is just a few pages..please help! Thanks to both of you who have directed me to the right path, especially S’s answer was really useful and I could get at least one handset working now!! I just need to get the other two working as the same process is not working for them and says “registration failiure” any additional details would be useful…I am so glad I don’t have to return them now!

I have the same phone and it looks like you missed a step. You have to register each phone to the base.

It’s real simple, just do the following:
-Hit the menu/ok button
-Go down to Handset Setup
-Go down to Registration and click it when the phone(s) are close to the base.

Hope it solves your problem. They’re such cute phones. =)
