How can I reconnect my home phone system back to BT?
I’ve just moved into a house which used to have cable, and helpfully when they had cable put in they disconnected the BT line from the internal phone system (i.e. all the little white boxes through the house). BT have reconnected the house but the only phone socket that works is the ‘test’ socket. BT say as it’s my internal wiring/system then it’s not their problem. Which isn’t that helpful, but I need BT to get Sky to get decent TV!! Am sure this happens to anyone who’s made the mistake of getting cable, but is it easy to sort out? Is there an obvious “fix” or should i call an engineer, and if so then who? I live in Clapham in London…
I see your problem, but when my house was built I had cable installed and BT as well.
BT only put one port, but I am happy with cable. You should speak to BT and pay their price for a new line to be installed £300. Or stay with Cable and get Sky as well:
